HTC Flyer Review

The news at Mobile World Congress 2011 from Barcelona were great not only for the smartphone users, but also for tablet lovers: HTC announced their first tablet – HTC Flyer. This was obviously expected to happen sooner or later. Having some unique features, which are pretty awesome, comes as a proof that HTC never misses their target and always knows how to offer users a different, overwhelming experience…yeah you guessed it, i’m a HTC fan.

This is the first tablet to use the HTC Sense UI, especially redesigned for this kind of devices and featuring 3D widgets. It also has aluminum body and utilizes pen interaction with pressure sensitivity, things that make HTC Flyer one of a kind.

HTC Flyer - An Overview ( Release Date, Specs )
More than that, HTC will bring users a new video download service, HTC Watch, and digital ink technology, known as HTC Scribe which, along with Timemark and Evernote, will offer you the experience of smart note-taking or drawing pictures by using a pen and even more: audio capturing in line with written notes.
HTC has even thought about users’ gaming experience: HTC Flyer is the first mobile device that features OnLive Inc.’s  Mobile Cloud Gaming service. This means you will be able to access video games right on the tablet or directly on your TV through a wireless connection.

Regarding the dimensions, the Flyer is pretty compact, enough to carry it in a bag or even a jacket pocket. But compact as it is, a strong 1.5 GHz processor lies under its shell. Also, it has 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM, support for HSPA+ and two cameras: the 5MP primary camera and the secondary, front-facing, of 1.3 MP.
Although the hardware is not what makes the HTC Flyer stand out in the crowd, but the services and the innovations for user experience, it is still a powerful device, as it can be seen in the full specs below:
  • Processor: 1.5 GHz Qualcomm;
  • Operating System: Android 2.4;
  • Memory: 1 GB of RAM; 32 GB of ROM;
  • Display: 7 inch ( 1024 x 600 ) TFT touchscreen;
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HSPA+, microUSB 2.0, GPS / GPRS / EDGE;
  • Cameras: 5 MP primary; 1.3 MP front-facing;
The HTC Flyer release date will be somewhere in Q2, but when we will know for sure, we’ll get back to you.
